New Year Countdown Carnival

Bangkok was once voted by travelers as the best city in the world for celebrating the New Year countdown carnival.
Every year Central World shopping plaza holds the biggest countdown carnival in Bangkok. It is just like the carnival in Times Square, New York. You can enjoy live entertainment, including live bands and DJs, and join your friends for a bottle of beer. When the New Year arrives, you can watch the most fantastic fireworks.
Beware: Go early and find a good place near the junction where you can have a good view of the live shows and the fireworks.
Asiatique
Asiatique, one of the best-known night markets in Bangkok, will soon become one of the most popular places in the city for welcoming in the New Year.
The countdown at Asiatique will start at 17:00 hrs on 31st December and continue to 00:30 hrs on 1st January. You can enjoy live music and traditional Thai shows, as well as the fireworks when the clock strikes twelve. Besides, many restaurants will offer a special New Year's menu. It's worth booking ahead of time, to make sure you get a table.
Beware: The best way to get to the market is via free ferry from Saphan Taksin Pier. Please note that the boat will be crowded, so make sure you are not standing near the edge or your clothes will be soaked by the waves. Besides, please take care not to miss the last boat back to the city.
