Chiang Mai | 23 | 32 | 150 |

In Bangkok and Central Thailand: The average temperature is about 29°C (85°F). Due to the monsoon winds, the weather can change rapidly even within the span of a day.
In northern Thailand, including Chiang Mai: The north experiences moderate rainfall during July, but because of its mountainous terrain and inland location, it is cooler than other regions of Thailand.
The southern islands: The west of the Thai peninsula is particularly affected by the monsoon in July, which brings heavy rains and turbulent waves.
However, some southern islands (those on the east coast) experience fewer showers during this season and have good weather (only moderate rainfall) in July; these include Koh Samui, Koh Tao, and Kao Pha Ngan. You can still enjoy sunny days at the beach on these islands.

The Best Places to Visit in Thailand in July
If you are planning a trip to Thailand in July and are looking for the best places to visit, consider these five places that we have selected. From indoor activities to outdoor attractions, and from energetic cities to sunny islands, Thailand has something for everyone.

1. Koh Samui

Even though you may encounter some occasional showers in the evening, it won't affect your experience in Koh Samui, which is recommended in July for its clear waters, beautiful seascapes, lush palm trees and coconut groves, and high-end resorts.
Koh Samui has many beautiful and quiet beaches, where you can enjoy sunbathing, water sports, and stunning sunsets. Some great beaches to check out there are Lamai Beach, Choeng Mon Beach, Bophut Beach, and Maenam Beach.
2. Bangkok

No matter when you visit Thailand, Bangkok is a must-visit place, as it offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including sightseeing, cultural and historical sites, and shopping. Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn), and Wat Pho are some of the best attractions to learn about Thailand's Buddhist culture and appreciate these iconic Buddhist landmarks on a clear day.
3. Pattaya

Pattaya is one of the few places in Thailand that experiences fewer showers in July, with an average temperature 28°C (82°F).
There, you can enjoy bright sunshine and beautiful sandy beaches, visit Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum (which its collection of a lot of strange objects and treasures from all over the world) and appreciate Thailand's fabulous woodcarving in the Sanctuary of Truth.
4. Hua Hin
Hua Hin is a good place to visit in July. It presents a quiet and relaxing vibe. There are glorious royal palaces, lively markets, nice golf courses, quiet beaches, and beautiful parks there. One of the most famous natural parks in Hua Hin is the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park.
5. Chiang Mai

If you don't mind intermittent showers, July is the time to experience the beautiful scenery and fruit harvests in Chiang Mai. The rains bring a lush vigor to the foliage. Durian and mangosteen are especially delicious during this time.
You can also visit many ancient temples such as Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh, learn about Lanna culture at Chiang Mai National Museum, and visit Doi Inthanon National Park.
Crowding and Costs in July
Few people choose July to travel to Thailand because of its heat and rain. Discounted rates can often be seen in many branded hotels and restaurants. The tourist sites and beaches are generally quiet and empty, which makes it a good time to go to relax, though you may need to retreat inside when afternoon/evening downpours come.
Clothes to Wear in July
Light shirts and cool clothes are good attire for Thailand in July. Shorts, skirts, T-shirts, light trousers, and caps are recommended to pack for your trip to Thailand in July.
In most places, there are more than 20 days with some rain in July. So, umbrellas, light raincoats, and rubber boots or sandals are probably going to be needed during your trip in July.
