Bali Honeymoon Trip Plan: Sample Itinerary, Romantic Experiences

By RitaUpdated Jan. 31, 2024

Romance is the trademark of Bali. As the first vacation of your married life, Bali can offer you a dream-like trip that is more than a beach vacation.

Special Bali experiences can make your honeymoon sweeter: watch pink sunsets at Jimbaran Beach, trek up the active volcanic Mt. Batur for sunrise, touch the exotic culture in Ubud, relax at a romantic hotel with an infinity pool, and taste fancy island cuisines.

Due to its different travel attractions, Bali is usually divided into three areas: the south and nearby islands for beach vacations; the center for jungles, rice terraces, and art galleries; and the north for volcanic hiking and diving.

For a honeymoon, central Bali (mainly Ubud) and the southern beaches are musts for romantic experiences.

How Many Days to Stay for a Romantic Honeymoon in Bali?

Generally speaking, most people visit Bali for 5 to 10 days. They usually focus on the southern beaches and the center (Ubud). To finish your romantic trip on the southern beaches would be the ideal consummation!

Suggested: 8-Day Private Authentic Bali Discovery Tour

For an exclusive honeymoon tour, you deserve a longer stay that enables you to extend your travels to northern mountain areas or nearby islands. A 12-Day Romantic Bali & Java Honeymoon tour will bring you a fairytale experience!

Besides fully immersing yourself in Bali, many of our clients also visit other Asian countries as part of a long flight. For a two-week trip, Singapore is wonderful destination to connect with Bali (3 hours' flying away). It would enrich your travel experience in Asia. Click for the sample itinerary: 13-Day Private Singapore and Bali Journey of Discovery.

If you have over two weeks and would like to see more of Southeast Asia, extending to Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar may be ideal for you.

Costs for a Sweet Bali Honeymoon

Like all distant travels abroad, international flights are the main portion of your costs. In Asia, most of the popular air hubs (Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong) have direct flights to Bali. For people from Europe and America, airfares are lower when making stopovers in SE Asian hubs than more distant hubs like Sydney or Doha.

Hotels form the majority of your tour costs after arrival. As Bali is a world of stylish hotels, you could choose a mid-range boutique (around US$80–100 per night) or relax at an all-inclusive luxury hotel (from US$199 to US$995 per night).

Tour costs vary according to what you prefer. You can lie idly on the beach, join in the water activities (from US$50 to US$100 per day) or take a hassle-free private tour (US$150 to US$300 per day).

The Best Times to Go

Bali has two seasons: the rainy season (November–March) and the dry season (April–October).

The dry season is best for sun, sand, and sea enjoyment. You can fully immerse yourself in the outdoor activities with virtually continuous pleasant weather. Considering the high demand in the dry season, you'd better make your reservations at least 2 months ahead, especially for July and August (the peak time).

You might only be influenced by short afternoon downpours (1–2 hours) during the rainy season. Indoor activities are suggested when it's raining, like a local cooking class, a Balinese massage, or a yoga class. Or you could visit the drier islands of northern SE Asia from November to March for much better weather, like Phuket in Thailand.
