Bangkok is the perfect place to be with all your family. There is so much to do that you will have a hard time picking the right activity for you. Live shows, like the Siam Niramit Show and the Calypso Cabaret, and art exhibitions are extraordinary examples of how skilled Thai artists are.
Shopping malls and spas are the places to go to relax, buy some souvenirs, and recharge your batteries. Instead, if you want to enjoy a drink (and maybe some live music) choose one of the many high-end bars downtown, like the Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental, a classy venue with jazz and cocktails.
Whatever you want to do, Bangkok won't let you down.

Excellent experience in Bangkok
Ying was our guide in Bangkok. She was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. She knew exactly how to move us through crowds quickly so that we could see all we wanted to say and made good recommendations for other things we were interested in. I would not hesitate to recommend Ying or anyone that helped us at Asia highlights More

Live Shows
The capital city offers a wide variety of night shows, for example: the Siam Niramit Show, the largest stage production in the world, introducing the marvels of Thai culture; or the Calypso Cabaret Show, with music and dance; or a Muay Thai show, displaying the techniques of the national martial art. There is so much to choose from, you surely won't be disappointed!
Siam Niramit Show
Bangkok gives you the chance to watch the biggest stage performance in the world, with more than 500 performers, thousands of costumes, and wonderful special effects. The show, retelling the story of the Ramakien (a Thai epic tale), is divided into three parts, and it aims to introduce you to the history and culture of Thailand.
The Siam Niramit Compound houses a miniature Thai village, a restaurant and many shops, and you will be able to listen to a ranad band (the Thai xylophone) and feed elephants. A full immersion in Thai culture.
Calypso Cabaret Show
At the Asiatique, near the town square, you will be amazed by an energetic show with Chinese love songs, Korean pop, Japanese geisha dancing, slapstick comedy, impressions, and much, much more! All the performers of the show are ladyboys, and their skills and energy are impressive.
It is a show for the whole family (the routine has been tested and tried many times), with tons of musical performances. Maybe the highlights of the cabaret are the solo mime of a famous Japanese song, "Like the Flow of the River", and the impression of Marylin Monroe that opens the show.
Thai Boxing Show
A Muay Thai show combines amusing performances with the traditional martial art of Thailand, and it is suitable for everyone. We strongly recommend to watch Muay Thai: The Legend Lives, maybe the most popular of the shows in town, held at the Asiatique.
The plot tells the dramatic history of Muay Thai, and all the athletes engage in choreographed fights and impressive jumps and acrobatics, displaying their incredible skills and the various techniques of Muay Thai. The show, never boring, will entertain people of all ages!

Rooftop Bars and Jazz Bars
Of the many bars you can find in town, you should not skip these: a rooftop bar with the best view of the city; and a jazz bar with live music and brand new cocktails created by the head barman. Could you ask for more?
Sky Bar Lebua at State Tower
It doesn't happen often to have the chance to enjoy a drink while having the best view of Bangkok. The bar, at the top of one of the tallest towers in Bangkok, offers a menu with plenty of original cocktails, like the Hangovertini, created to commemorate the movie shot there, Hangovers II.
The bar is extremely popular, and it is advised to get there around 6p.m. There are no seats, but the stunning view widely compensates. If you are coming for a special occasion, try Sirocco, a high-end restaurant perfect for a romantic dinner.
Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental
For a lot of people in Bangkok, the Bamboo Bar means amusing jazz, good atmosphere, and incredible cocktails. The Bamboo Bar is a sophisticated venue, decorated with dark wood and marble, low lights and mirrored ceiling, that hosts exceptional jazz artists, ranging from classic jazz to bebop.
Cocktails are really a highlight. The head barman won the most prestigious mixologist prize in 2015, and the menu offers many of his creations, like Temptation (with saffron vodka), or Shooting Star (with champagne and guava, among other ingredients).
Spas and Massages
Spending a day (or even a few hours) in a spa is an excellent way to get rid of all the stress and to enjoy the many treatments that will restore your body and your mind.
Harnn Heritage Spa
Using traditional techniques, inspired by Asian medicine and naturopathy, the spa aims to restore your body, giving you a new sense of wellness. The spa uses only the finest botanical ingredients and has many treatments that fit into just a couple of hours, perfect if you don't have too much time.
Health Land
The spa was founded in 1999 and it was originally a full-service health center. Nowadays, Health Land is one of Thailand's premier brands, with elegant facilities and attention to detail. They offer many services, like a four-hand massage, or the Shiro Dhara, a traditional practice consisting in a continuous flow of warm oil on the forehead.
Oasis Spa
The location of the Spa recreates a secret garden ambiance, that makes you forget that you are in the center of Bangkok. Relax in one of the twelve treatment rooms with showers, soaking baths, massage beds, etc.
Among the quiet lotus ponds and the waterfalls, you will find relaxation platforms to get rid of the stress.
