Agra to Jaipur by Private Transfer: Hassle-Free
![Fatehpur Sikri in Agra](https://data.asiahighlights.com/grey.gif)
Private transfers are the least-stressful and most-hassle-free choice for Agra to Jaipur travel. Your driver would pick you up and drop you off as arranged. You're spared the trouble of catching your train among the crowds or the hardship of being crammed into a small seat on a crowded bus. What's more, you won't have to carry your luggage an inch of the way.
Chauffeured by a private driver, you can fully indulge in the exotic scenery along the way. You also have the flexibility to make some stops along the way, such as Fatehpur Sikri (an ancient fort), Keoladeo National Park (known for birds), or Chand Baori (an ornate stepwell).
Safety is the priority when travelling abroad. You might be worried about getting lost in an unknown place. Contact us for a reliable driver to avoid detours and fraud. Without hidden costs, your expert English-speaking driver can help with your luggage and make many helpful suggestions for your Jaipur tour.
Agra to Jaipur by Train: Atmospheric and Comfortable
![Non-AC-train in india](https://data.asiahighlights.com/grey.gif)
The train is the most atmospheric and relaxing way to unveil authentic Indian life and scenery in a journey context. You can say "hi" to a lovely kid or talk with any passengers you find who speak English, or just appreciate the rural views from your private cabin.
The fastest train just takes about 4 hours to get from Agra to Jaipur. But the train journey actually takes about 5½ hours if you add city transfer time and station time in Agra and Jaipur. Delays are common for a train journey over 3 hours. So, a train is more suitable for those who have plenty of time and would like to travel at a slower pace.
In India, not all trains are fully air-conditioned. You're suggested to book seats or sleeper bunks in an A/C train for a better experience. With similar prices to buses, trains offer much more space and a smoother ride.
Booking your train tickets soon after they go on sale is necessary due to the huge demand. Their official website (IRCTC) is not friendly to foreign visitors for registration or payment. Contact us for an India tour, and we'll sort out the transfers and train tickets for you.
Agra to Jaipur by Bus (Not Advised)
![Public bus in India](https://data.asiahighlights.com/grey.gif)
You will have a more scenic and extremely local experience with a bus, especially with a non-A/C bus, as they go through the small villages. If the bus journey goes as scheduled, you can reach Jaipur in around 6 hours from Agra. However, local buses always detour to collect more passengers. Stopping randomly makes the journey time much more unpredictable.
Bus tickets are the most easily purchasable. You can book your tickets online, from your hotel, or on the spot (at the station). Tickets are always available and the price stays very similar. But you should book in advance if you want to avoid the long queues at a bus station.
In India, non-A/C buses might be crowded and dusty. Communication with local drivers is another difficulty, since most drivers just speak Hindi. Without English announcements, it is hard to figure out what is happening.
For a better experience, you should book an A/C bus or luxury sleeper bus with a toilet. The price goes up accordingly, and can be almost triple the cost of a train sleeper, and even then, for worse conditions.
How to Get around Jaipur
In Jaipur, a private transfer is again the most comfortable and safest option for getting around. Auto-rickshaws are more convenient inside the old city. Public buses are not recommended for foreign visitors or first-timers as they are without any English service, signage, or stop announcements.
Most travelers prefer 2–3 days in Jaipur as part of a Golden Triangle (Delhi–Agra–Jaipur) trip. You are likely to arrive in Jaipur (from Delhi or Agra) in the afternoon. The following is a summary of a typical Jaipur itinerary:
- Day 1: Visit the top highlights of the Pink City — Amber Fort, Panna Meena ka Kund (the amazing stepwell), City Palace, Hawa Mahal (the pink palace), and Jantar Mantar (stone Mughal-Dynasty astronomy instruments)
- Day 2: Nahargarh Fort, cooking class or shopping
