The park is not only home to the UNESCO-listed Atomic Bomb Dome but also houses the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, bearing the names of those who lost their lives, along with several other poignant memorials.

Hiroshima Castle: While the present castle overlooking Hiroshima City is a replica constructed in 1958, its roots extend deep into history. Originally built in the late 1500s, it predates the city itself. Today, the castle serves as a museum chronicling the city's history before the atomic bombing. It faithfully mirrors the original structure, which, unfortunately, did not survive the bombing. However, three trees within the castle's walls, a holly, eucalyptus, and willow, withstood the blast from just 740 to 910 meters away. These resilient trees are now powerful symbols of the city's strength and capacity to thrive even after adversity.
