Vegetarian Dining in Thailand
Vegetarian food in Thailand is very common and it will be no problem to have a wide choice of vegetarian dishes in restaurants or even food markets. Many traditional dishes derive from Buddhist culture and are prepared in a simple and clean manner, excluding any non-vegetarian ingredients.
The list of vegetarian dishes in Thailand is almost endless. Here are a few:
mung bean noodle salad, papaya salad, and fresh spring rolls, ton yum, stir-fried noodles (pad Thai), grilled mushrooms, and gaeng aom.
Most restaurants in Bangkok are capable of catering to a vegetarian diet and the same goes for vegan, halal or gluten-free meals, just ask us for any further details or recommendations.
Restaurants in Bangkok
Bangkok's restaurant scene could not be more diverse. You will find food and dishes not only from any part of Asia, but from all around the world.
You can choose a top posh restaurant or a small family-run eating place and, of course, countless food stalls in the numberless markets. All have their own, individual atmosphere.
Service in general in Thailand is very obliging and tipping is not mandatory. It is customary, however, to leave loose change for the service. Many restaurants include a service fee in their bill. In upper class restaurants a tip of 5 to 10% is quite common.

Thai and Asian cuisine
The name is not coincidental – from here you have a marvelous view of Wat Arun, one of Bangkok's most famous sites, while enjoying your meal. This is a pleasure hard to surpass, especially at night time.
King river prawns deep-fried in garlic or served in a zesty pla kung salad and grilled red snapper with lemon and dill sauce accompanied by sweet grilled vegetables are just two of the dishes worth highlighting. Vegetarian dishes are available.
Location: 36-38 Soi Pratoo Nok Yoong, Maharat Road, Rattanakosin Island
Err Urban Rustic Thai
Local Thai cuisine
This is a rustic urban Thai location in an old shop house on one of the many side-streets that connect Maharaj Road with the River. Little snacks are prepared from fresh ingredients and (sometimes) fermented meat, to be enjoyed along with a drink.

Closed on Mondays
Hiding among the streets of Amphawa, this place offers a great view of the river, delicious food and live music. It quickly becomes crowded at mealtimes, for it is very popular among local people. We recommend it to fish and seafood lovers, but also to others.
Deep fried barramundi, seafood fried rice, tom yum kung and BBQ'ed river prawn freshly caught are only a few of Chalsamran’s specialties.
Location: 14 Puang Sombun Road, Amphawa 75110
7-Day Central Thailand Exploration:
This award-winning, vegetarian restaurant is located in a charming 1940s-style Bangkok villa exuding a real old-world charm. Teak wooden floors, high ceilings, original artwork and the slow turning of the ceiling fan all combine to take you back in time.
Thai and western dishes are served, mainly vegetarian. Fresh fish and seafood are available, too. Na Aroon’s specialties are mee grob, yum som o, tom khoong, mieung keiw tew, and nam prik ong, to mention only a few.
Location: 65 Sukhumvit Soi, 1 Klongtoey Nua, Wattana
The Great Kabab Factory
This has an open kitchen with an industrial design and a modern, ethnic ambiance. There is a choice of 450 kababs – vegetarian and non-vegetarian – of which only a set selection will be served on a given day. The selection of Indian bread is one of a kind. Their dishes give a great introduction to Indian food.

Nadimo’s Lebanese Restaurant
Nadimo’s offers only Lebanese dishes, such as tabbouleh (chopped parsley and tomatoes), baba ghanoush (grilled eggplant dip), hummus (silky mashed chickpeas with sesame paste), kebab (skewers of grilled lamb with parsley and onions), riz bil hallib (a dessert made of rice and milk pudding with rose syrup), and Lebanese coffee.
