Passport holders from most countries, like the USA, Canada, the UK, and most European countries, enjoy visa-free entry to Singapore for 30 or 90 days. Other countries must apply for an Entry Visa or use the Visa-Free Transit Facility for short stays (4 days). Find out all about the requirements for each below.
Singapore's Visa-Free Countries
Most countries, including Canada and the UK, can travel to Singapore visa-free for a maximum of 30 days. Nationals from the following countries are allowed to stay in Singapore for 90 days:
- The United States
- Australia
- European Union citizens
- New Zealand
- Norway
- South Korea
- Switzerland
Entry Requirements
Even if you are exempt from a Singapore visa, you still need to present yourself for immigration clearance when you enter Singapore. The basic entry requirements are as follows:
- A passport that is valid for at least six months
- Sufficient funds for the length of your intended stay (from US$80 per day is recommended)
- A completed Singapore Arrival Card1 and e-Pass2. Apply for it about 3 days in advance from: https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/
- A confirmed onward or return ticket (where applicable)
- Evidence that you can enter your next destination (for example, a visa)
Notes:
- The Singapore Arrival Card is quick to fill in with a few personal identifiers, trip details, and a health declaration. All travelers entering Singapore complete one.
- From 11 March 2022, all foreigners who are eligible for entry into Singapore will receive a Visit Pass (e-Pass) by email, showing the number of days they can stay. Please provide a valid email address for your e-Pass when you fill in the Singapore Arrival Card.

How to Apply for a Singapore Visa?
People who require an Entry Visa to visit Singapore can apply in these ways:
1. Through a local contact, an authorized visa agent, or a strategic partner. They will submit the visa application on your behalf online using Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority's (ICA's) e-Service. (A local contact should be more than 21 years old.)
2. At a Singapore embassy office
If you are staying near a Singapore embassy, it might be easier for you to go to the office to apply for the visa in person. If not, it is better to find a local contact or an agent to help you, because you cannot submit a Singapore visa application yourself on the ICA website, as you do not have the authorization. A local Singapore citizen can register on SingPass and submit an application for you.
Documents Required
Please prepare the following documents when you submit the visa application:
- A completed Singapore Visa Application Form. You can download the form here.
- Passport-sized color photos taken within the last three months. At least two photos are needed and the dimensions must be 400x514 pixels. See more about photo guidelines here.
- A photocopy (on A4 paper) of your passport bio-data page. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date when you enter Singapore.
- A photocopy of your travel itinerary or booked roundtrip airline tickets (on A4 paper)
- A letter of introduction for the visa application from your local contact or strategic partner. Here is the template to download.
- Your VISA or MasterCard details to pay for the visa processing fee.
- A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate for nationals from the following countries or those who will have visited these countries before travelling to Singapore:
Angola | Democratic Republic of the Congo | Mauritania |
Argentina | Equatorial Guinea | Mali |
Burkina Faso | Ecuador | Nigeria |
Bolivia | Ethiopia | Niger |
Benin | French Guiana | Peru |
Burundi | Guyana | South Sudan |
Brazil | Ghana | Sierra Leone |
Chad | Gambia | Suriname |
Colombia | Guinea-Bissau | Sudan |
Central African Republic | Gabon | Senegal |
Cote d'Ivoire | Guinea | Trinidad and Tobago |
Cameroon | Kenya | Togo |
Congo | Liberia | Uganda |
It normally takes about 3–5 working days to process an Entry Visa. Some applications may take longer.
Visa Fees for Applying for a Singapore Tourist Visa (Entry Visa)
- A Singapore Entry Visa processing fee is about USD$ 23 and the fee is non-refundable even though you withdraw the application after submitted.
- The nationals who want to stay longer than their visa pass( short-term visa pass) allowed need to extend the stay and pay for an extension fee, which is about USD$30. You can submit your visa extend application online on Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Please submit the application about seven days before the expiry of your short-term visa pass.
Once You Have an Entry Visa
If your visa application is successful, you will receive a Short-Term Visa Pass (an STVP e-Pass), which is valid for 14–30 days. You must also fulfill the basic entry requirements (also shown above). This includes filling in a Singapore Arrival Card before going.
The Singapore Visa-Free Transit Facility
Nationals from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the People's Republic of China (PRC), Georgia, India, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine may be eligible for the Visa-Free Transit Facility allowing a visa-free stay in Singapore of up to 96 hours.
You do not need to use the visa-free transit facility (or get a visa or fulfill any of the other entry requirements) if you pass through Singapore without leaving the transit area of the airport.
