In good hands with Sam
Sam Ol took very good care of us - lots of information, listened to and answered all our questions, was passionate about the places we visited and about his people and country. He was kind, had a great sense of humor, and made sure we felt safe and comfortable at all times. He helped us to fall in love with Cambodia in 3 short days.

Best tour guide in Cambodia
When we first arrived at the airport in Siem Riep it was so nice to be greeted by Mr Sam Ol. We instantly fell at home when we saw his friendly smile. We were impressed by his great English and knowledge of the temples. On the tour to the temples Sam took care of us every step of the way. He took awesome pictures of us. It felt like we were on a tour given by our brother who is also a professional photographer. Also, we appreciate his humor as well as the fact he had an answer for every question we had. I give Sam 5 stars, best tour guide ever :)

Great tour guide Charity at Siem Reap
Our experience in Siem Reap could not have been any better thanks to our outstanding and cheerful guide, Charity. Her very good English speaking made it so easy to learn so much from her. She understood and answers all of our questions. She was relaxed and very knowledgeable. She went out out her way to help us make amazing pano photos of the cotton trees at Siem Reap and on our sunset cruise. She also advised us on Chanrey Tree restaurant—what we found to be the very best vegan restaurant on our first three weeks of our Asia tour. So glad to have vegan meals with very little oil!!! We are not supposed to have oil and is very hard to find vegan with no oil. Went went back the next night.

Bayview — the Beach Resort
Star rating: ★★★★ Value: ★★★★
Facilities: private beach area, terrace, hammam (Turkish bath), hot tub/jacuzzi, restaurant (à la carte), ATM/cash machine on site, spa and wellness center, babysitting service, extra bed available, wheelchair access, free bicycles
Features: privacy, natural and quiet environment, big rooms (at least 44 square meters), environmental protection, German management, showers with a good stream of water, good coffee served
The hotel setting and garden are beautiful and intimate. And the resort is just a few steps away from a fantastic beach front. The woody feeling of the rooms and the dark wooden floors ensure a good sleeping environment.
You can also enjoy great and comfortable sun-loungers. Provision of enough beach umbrellas and towels reflects the attentiveness to detail of the hotel management.
The beach front restaurant (the Sunset Bar) boasts a great beach view. Breakfasts supply a great range of food, fresh and tasty. And the resort has been trying to offer daily change, both in Western and Asian dishes. If you wish to have dinner in the hotel, reserving in advance is advisable, for better service.
All resort employees are helpful and attentive. Chefs are well trained in all matters of hygiene and members of staff have all been sent for training in Yangon to ensure good service quality.
The resort is extremely well managed and there is an overabundance of staff, evident everywhere from meals to housekeeping to beach and to property maintenance. Your experiences living at Bayview may exceed your expectations.
If you like massage we strongly recommend you try one at the resort, since massage is wonderfully done and reasonably priced here. The hotel will also be enjoyed by active travelers, as there are some kayaks and a volleyball-net on the beachfront.
Sandoway Resort
Star rating: ★★★★ Value: ★★★★
Facilities: meditation mats, assigned beach beds, cinema, library, golf course (within 3 km), sun terrace, spa and wellness center, salt-water pool, mosquito nets, great showers
Features: fabulous setting, excellent sea view, natural, twice-a-day room service
This resort is in an incredible location. It is a real oasis of calm and a truly idyllic place. Quiet and almost empty white sand beach stretches as far as the eye can see.
The rooms are nicely furnished and offer a great bathroom with walk-in shower. Each room has it own numbered umbrellas and chairs on the beach, which are cleaned early every morning.
The restaurant, in the open-air right on the edge of the beach (you need to book in advance if you want dinner at a table in the front row), is great for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is relatively expensive, however, compared to restaurants outside the hotel.
There are several restaurants to choose from in this area, and there is also a shop where drinks are cheaper than those in the hotel.
The house-keeping is great (rooms are cleaned twice a day). Members of staff are all eager to help in any way they can. They are very friendly and approachable, always smiling and trying hard to respond to all your questions.
You’ll have the opportunity to go out fishing and snorkeling with locals. Alternatively you can take a boat to a nearby island, which is also fun. Don't miss the early morning 20-minute-walk down the beach to the local fishing village.
If you prefer, you can rent a bike to go to the nearby villages. The whole area is extremely safe, no one bothers you. Just make sure you know the local greetings and goodbyes, and smile a lot. Smiling is an important thing for local people.

Pleasant View Resort
Star rating: ★★★ Value: ★★★★
Facilities: extra bed available, golf course (within 3 km), ATM/cash machine on site, private beach area, BBQ facilities, airport shuttle (free), spa and wellness center, restaurant (both buffet & à la carte), clean swimming pool
Features: wooden and fairly contemporary in design, close to a fishing village, big rooms (at least 40 square meters)
This resort is located at the southern end of Ngapali Beach, which is well designed and one of the best stretches of beach. The beach is very calm with only a few distractions – a couple of fruit-sellers and boats for hire.
This is the quiet end of beach – far away from busy spots but a short walk from cheap eateries and other attractions.
The hotel has a nice buffet breakfast with Southeast Asian, Burmese, and Western selections. The restaurant is on the small island in front of the hotel. The food is good quality and the sunset from here is just beautiful. There are several restaurants near the resort in case you want to eat out.
Members of staff are very attentive, and there is an English-speaking doctor available who will appear within 20 minutes of asking. Room service here also deserves particularly strong praise.
The resort’s on-site spa, located in a beachfront bungalow, offers heavenly full-body and foot massages.
Thande Beach Hotel
Star rating: ★★★ Value: ★★★★
Facilities: free airport transfer (both ways), BBQ facilities, restaurant (both buffet & à la carte), ATM/cash machine on site, babysitting/child service, shops (on site), pool bar
Features: good value for money, good coffee served, twice-a-day room service, relaxation, smiling staff
This hotel is perfectly located if you like quietness, white sand, and turquoise water. It is situated right on a really nice beach, which has some excellent beach restaurants.
There are tree-shaded, comfortable beach-loungers up on a wooded walkway or under umbrellas on the sand. The sea water is warm, calm, and gorgeous, even at 8 am.
Breakfast from 7 to 10am is satisfying and varied. For dinner or lunch, the à la carte menu has many offerings, both local and western, at reasonable prices. These meals are served on a well shaded terrace overlooking the beach and ocean. It is relaxing and gorgeous.
It's also a great spot for watching the sunset over the water, with $2 happy hour cocktails with or without alcohol. You can have lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant, or if you prefer, there are also many good restaurants near the hotel.
Staff members are polite, professional, friendly, helpful and always serve with a smile. They will take care of any concerns you have. Rooms are cleaned and attended to twice a day.
A cold towel and drink welcome you upon arrival, with easy check in. Many members of staff wave goodbye when you leave the hotel in their unique van.
About 20 minutes’ walk along the bay at an unspoiled fisherman’s village, you can observe locals doing their daily work, drying and filleting their catch, as they would have done 200 years ago.
There are few other water sports, so if you want an action-packed water holiday, this may not be the place for you. But if it's relaxation you’re after, this is the place for you.
