They have replicated their beautiful palace design in a train for tourists to experience royal life on wheels. In this 8-day train journey, you will explore the famous ‘Land of Kings’ via the Palace on Wheels (using the cars from the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, which no longer operates). It will be an experience of a lifetime to explore Rajasthan in this way.

Day 1 Delhi
When you arrive at Safdarjung Railway Station at about 16:00, you will be welcomed in a very traditional way as an honorable guest. After you’ve finished the check-in procedure at about 18:30, your exciting 8-day train journey throughout Rajasthan on this deluxe mobile palace will begin. Enjoy a wonderful dinner in the evening.
Day 2 Jaipur
While having some delicious breakfast on board, you will find yourself majestically rolling into Jaipur. The ‘Pink City’ will welcome you with shehnai and beautiful garlands. After the rousing reception, jump into the tour bus and head to Albert Hall Museum, which houses ancient treasures. Then appreciate the miraculous buildings, such as the Jantar Mantar and the City Palace.
Have a nice lunch break in the Raj Palace and then you will be amazed by the elaborately decorated Amber Fort, glittering in the sunlight. At about 15:00, you will have a chance to experience the authentic vibe of a local bazaar. Bargain with the stall owners and pick up some exotic textiles or handicrafts as souvenirs. You will need to get back on the train by 20:00 since your journey to Sawai Madhopur will continue and dinner will be ready.
Day 3 Sawai Madhopur to Chittorgarh
Your sightseeing will start with a safari in the famous Ranthambore National Park, which is situated in the vicinity of Aravalli and Vindhya ranges. In addition to its fabulous natural scenery, it is also a paradise for wild animals, especially the significant number of Royal Bengal tigers, which means you can easily spot a tiger during your visit.
At about 10:20, you will proceed to Chittorgarh via your moving palace. The estimated time of arrival is about 15:00. During that time, it would be a great chance to make some new friends at the bar. You can share some interesting travel stories over a drink or simply enjoy some quality time. Upon arrival at Chittorgarh, you will be intrigued by the daring spirit of the Rajput tribe while visiting their former fortress. Then, take a fast tour around the city and admire its hidden beauty. Later, return to the fortress where an amazing light show awaits you. Dinner will be provided on the train.
Day 4 Udaipur
At about 02:00, your mobile palace will head toward Udaipur tirelessly. Your breakfast will be served at 07:30. You will visit the 300-year-old Saheliyon-ki-Bari — the ‘Garden of the Maids of Honor’. There, you will learn about the original story of this classic garden while lingering around the enchanting lotus lake, resting in an elegant pavilion, and watching the clear spring gushing through the tall white fountain.
Next, get ready to be impressed by the strong cultural atmosphere at the City Palace Museum and the Crystal Gallery. At noon, have a rich meal at Taj Fateh Prakash Palace and then cruise on a boat and have a cup of tea in the ornate Jagmandir Island Palace. At about 16:00, return to the train and your journey through Rajasthan will continue as your quest to reach the border of Jaisalmer begins.
Day 5 Jaisalme
Deep in the Thar Desert lies Rajasthan's last great citadel. At 09:00, you shall enter the Golden City — Jaisalmer. Commence your visit at the tranquil Gadsisar Sagar Lake, appreciate the spectacular fortress, and marvel at countless havelis, such as Patwon Ki Haveli and the Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli. Both of them have a unique artistic significance while demonstrating the inviolable will of the former sovereign.
Head back to your deluxe mobile palace, have a nice lunch, and rest up for a while.
Later, you will ride on a camel and drink some tea at Sam Sand Dunes. At about 23:45, you will depart from Jaisalmer and make your way to Jodhpur.
Day 6 Jodhpur
At 07:00, you will arrive in the second-largest city in Rajasthan, Jodhpur, which is also known as the ‘Blue City’ and ‘Sun City’. After having a refreshing breakfast at about 07:30, you will set off to the majestic Mehrangarh Fort where you will be amazed by its grand city wall and the exquisite carved interior decoration. You can also see the nearby monument of the Jaswant Thada.
Feel the historical vicissitude while wandering around the Umaid Bhawan Museum. Before the end of the day, you can stroll down to the nearby bazaar and buy exotic items if you wish. Enjoy a feast in the royal Ajit Bhawan Palace at noon. Your oriental express will soon depart for Bharatpur.
Day 7 Bharatpur to Agra
You will start your day with a delightful visit to Keoladeo National Park early in the morning. In the past, this bird sanctuary served as private hunting and bird observation grounds for the maharajas. Take some fascinating photos there and then head back to the train for breakfast before you visit Agra at 09:00. You will be there in 2 hours.
Catch a glimpse of the ancient glory of the Mughal Empire at the fantastic Agra Fort. At about 13:30, a sumptuous lunch will be waiting for you at Trident, Agra. Afterward, at 15:00, you will visit the renowned Taj Mahal. There, you will hear the touching love story of Shah Jahan and appreciate the fabulous architecture. Before you get back on the train, you can go shopping at the nearby local fair. Take your time — at 20:45, you will return to Delhi.
Day 8 Delhi
You will arrive at Safdarjung Railway Station at about 02:30. After having breakfast, all of the staff will say goodbye to you and your grand journey on the Palace on Wheels will come to an end. Take all of these beautiful memories with you!

- Prices for Children Children below the age of 5 years old can travel for 10% of the total cost of the journey. For children aged between 5 and 12 years, half of the journey cost will be charged. When the tickets are issued, you need to supply proof of the child’s/children’s age(s).
- Booking Policy A payment of 20% of the ticket value must be made when confirming the booking.
The remaining 80% needs to be paid 60 days prior to departure.

- Cancellation Policy A cancelation received 90 days prior to the departure date will result in the forfeit of 10% of the ticket value.
A cancelation received from 30 to 89 days before the departure date will result in the forfeit of 20% of the ticket value.
A cancelation received within 30 days before the departure date (including “no shows”) will result in the forfeit of 100% of the ticket value.
After the trip has commenced, we will be unable to refund any amount for unused services due to your unwillingness/inability to participate, early departure, late arrival, or missed days on tours.
