Weather: In May average temperatures are still high, but there's a significant increase in rainfall compared to April. Though showers will only last several hours each day, they are still annoying and inconvenient when doing outdoor activities.
Clothing: Vests and shorts will be best for you in May. Besides, you should also prepare a pair of water-proof sandals and a raincoat, for coping with sudden rain.

Fantastic Southeast Asia Trip
We had an excellent time in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand on our trip organized by Asia Highlights. Without their excellent guides and itinerary we would not have been able to experience everything we had in less than 2 weeks. All of the guides and drivers were incredibly helpful and considerate of our needs. Thank you Borin (Cambodia), Mui (Bangkok), Lee (Bangkok), Tip (Pattaya), Abe and other staff for coordinating an awesome vacation for us!! More

We loved our experience in Bangkok with…
We loved our experience in Bangkok with our guide Ying. She made everything easy to understand and enjoyable. She guided us through crowded areas with ease and always provided a detailed description of the sights. She also took pictures for us and sent them at the end of every day. We had an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Ying! You won’t be disappointed! More

7-Day Central Thailand Exploration:
Things to Do
With increasing and abrupt rainfall, most outdoor tours are likely to be disturbed by sudden rain. So in this month, indoor activities will be more suitable than outdoor ones. It may be a good idea to visit some interesting museums.
Bangkok National Museum
This is the most famous National Museum in Thailand. It's a good place for learning about the history and culture of Thailand. The museum's architecture is in traditional Thai style, with beautiful and spectacular golden decorations.
The museum is not that large but everything is exquisite. Its artifacts and displays will help you understand better the historical development of Thailand.
Beware: The museum is only open from 9am to 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday. Don't go there at the wrong time and be disappointed.
The Bangkokian Museum
This is also known as the Bangkok Folk Museum. It is not as famous as the national museum and what's more, it is a little difficult to find. It is located on a tiny street not far from the Oriental Hotel. Although the name "Bangkokian Museum" is written on a large signboard, it's still easy to miss.
What you can see are two beautiful wooden houses still preserved in perfect condition, just as they were in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The beautiful furniture and decorations in the museum demonstrate vividly what life might have been like during that era.
Besides, you may also have an opportunity to hear a short history of the house in English, from the female owner.
Beware: The museum is only open from 10am to 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
Vimanmek Mansion Museum
This is the largest building in the world made entirely of golden teak. The Museum was built in the Dusit Palace in 1900 by command of King Rama V and was renovated in 1982 by HM Queen Sirikit. It was made into a museum paying homage to the late King Rama V, so the antique furniture, porcelain, glassware and photos all maintain an atmosphere intended to honor the memory of the King.
Beware: The museum is only open from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday (last tickets are sold at 3.30pm). Since the museum is very popular with group tours, if you want to avoid the worst of the noise, you should go early, because most groups will not put this first on their list of attractions to visit.
